In 2006, AOL, fearing the rise of Digg, has launched a product that was very similar. Instead of launching your site, however, simply redirects the Netscape Web site for the new product. It was discovered that Netscape users mostly do not know or care, Digg. Netscape.com currently generates over 800 million page views a month. The experiment was a failure, and in 2007, AOL changed the product to its own domain, Propeller.com. They just wanted their news portal of the family.
Fast forward to next year, and tens of millions of people could be happy with Buzz Google in their Gmail account.
