Microsoft’s EU Browser Ballot Approved, Arrives March 1

The EU complaint was of the view that the combination of Microsoft Internet Explorer has made the market less competitive, to the detriment of consumers. Microsoft's initial plan to offer a version of Windows without a browser at all was rejected. After lengthy legal battles with the EU, the voice browser of Microsoft is finally in the direction of implementation. The solution accepted by both parties was in place to offer users a choice of browser automatically. Beware of heavy fines and attorneys' fees without end, the company has finally worked to overcome with the Competition Commission last year. Under this agreement, which promised an end to the priority of Internet Explorer.


With this decision, the EU finally decided that this would be the way forward, allowing the company to end its problems with the judiciary. The mechanism chosen for this summer is called the browser to vote, a selection of browsers offer users, and the browser of choice and will be installed by default. Initially using an alphabetical list, the vote was revised to show the browser in a random order.

The five major browser, Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Opera and Internet Explorer will be visible on the main selection screen, and seven more accessible by the right shift. Install the update will be in Windows 7, unlock the IE icon from the taskbar, and then offer a selection of browsers. The vote itself will be distributed to consumers in the EU that are running Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 via Windows Update.

Voting will be offered on a limited basis in the United Kingdom, Belgium and France, with a show of March 1. The list of browsers offer will be updated every six months to ensure that the five most popular browsers are still the priority.
