Although Microsoft said it made the change to simplify the task of monitoring the licensing rights to the PC, the continuing popularity of Windows XP may have had something to do with it.

Ah, yes, XP. And despite the popularity, many business PCs still using XP OS. Sure, why not? Who wants to train their employees and the deployment of thousands of new PC? Best age to run the country – is the expected behavior. Still the man, nine years later. I'm still rocking my XP, and I see no reason to do otherwise, although I have heard good things about Windows 7. But Microsoft had no intention of sustainability XP.

There is M$ Tax for ages and it’s made Bill Gates the richest person on Earth for a reason.M$ Windows should not cost more than $50-100 for a full version. There isn’t a more hated person on Earth than Bill Gates. He has affected negatively more busynesses and people on Earth than Genghis Khan and Hitler. Other companies and the open software community deliver products of similar qualities for much lower prices or for free.And I’m neither Apple user nor Linux one.M$ products are overpriced and crap but they have a real monopoly unlike Apple with their 7% market share.Also Apple’s users are happy M$ users have never been. Microsoft would be able to buy 2 Exxon Mobil sized companies then.
